The Short Crossing is double the angle of other track components in this range, this enables it to be used to form scissors formations in conjunction with them. Also, a compact (275mm long) double junction can be formed by using it with 2 short Y turnouts (Ref SL-E197).

Streamline ranges incorperate flexible lengths of track which can be manipulated to form far more geometric options, but represents a need for more expertise in both layout building and track planning.

Code 100 is the entry level standard for OO and HO Gauge track. It has the largest thickness rail (at 0.1" tall) of any of the current standard range, slightly trading off realism for the sake of durability.
