As the 1960s progressed, steam traction was the the decline as a result of dieselisation and the closure of many branch lines.
Thanks to film shot by the Late Keith Atkinson, we can travel back to an era when steam was still in abundance on regular trains.
Lines featured include:
* Newcastle and Murrurundi districts
* The Central West including 38 class passenger trains and 60 class
Garratts on heavy freights.
* Extensive footage of the Blayney to Demondrille line including
mixed trains.
* The Yass Tramway.
* Scarborough area.
* Portland Cement Works railway.
